Kobe Animal Kingdom shows capybaras in Pantanal, a South American wetland-inspired area expanded in April 2025. On June 9, 2026, the park had its first capybara breeding since opening: five babies were born, three survived and are growing well, and the family display with the parents begins on July 10, 2026.
Located within Oji Park in Kobe City, a capybara is kept solo in a dedicated enclosure with a pond. The zoo is also a popular cherry blossom spot, home to around 700 animals across approximately 120 species.
